【Exchange: London】Kenji Yamada| Talk Events & Exhibition

Kenji Yamada, who stayed at Chelsea College of Arts (UAL) through TWS Exchange Residency Program, will hold talk events and a solo show in London!

Tate Britain and Chelsea College of Arts are located where there was once Milbank Penitentiary. The nearby pub, Morpeth Arms has an underground tunnel in its basement, considered to be the remain of the former prison.
Through the images fed by a CCTV camera installed in the tunnel, people in the pub can see what is happening in the historical site in real time.

During his residency, Yamada researched on this remain and got strongly interested in the pub's semi-public nature and the new relations formed by the playful interaction between historic and modern artifacts.
He then conceived an idea of a talk show that will engage interactively with the entire pub.

It will be a unique talk event, where videos of the panelists recorded on the audience's 'compromised' mobiles will be projected in the underground prison tunnel, which will then be shared on the monitors installed throughout the pub via the CCTV camera underground.

The whole event will be documented and be presented at the 5-day exhibition.
