Comment

The things I want to express are all in everyday life. I inevitably reflect everyday scenes and experiences in my works. I have always expressed the sense of danger to our peaceful lives through awareness of sudden social pressures, accidents, incidents and other events, and also as gestures in response to those things. And I have learned about architecture in my training as a carpenter, so I have a great interest in people's living spaces and the urban landscape. In overwhelmingly consumerist modern Japan, the construction of buildings is a disinterested and hurried affair that I think bears no relation to the finer sensibilities of our aesthetic traditions. It's my hope to continue expressing myself through my pictures and through traditional Japanese architecture.
