Comment

Motivation and the process of the act of drawing are the themes I take up in my works. By approaching the drawing process like stop-motion anime, as though capturing the scene with time-lapse camera shots, I am able to maintain awareness of each quality as well as the physically of my body and of the materials. And my use of fragmented scenes as motifs, and allowing the time within to overlap with the process of drawing, enable time to be traced across the canvas. It should be possible, it seems to me, to draw time by somehow arranging a still and a moving picture in parallel.
