Comment

What I depict in paintings is the diversity of emotional patterns. I combine emotional scenery born of the madness and loneliness deep in the heart, the desire and the reason, and the love, etc., incorporating the visual elements of a young girl. Looking objectively at the title of this work, Zeppeki ni Saku Hanatachi (Flower Blooming on a Precipice), a flower that seems to be isolated from all the others, pitifully clinging to fragile life, can conversely be seen as bravely persevering to survive and therefore beautiful and important in its individuality. The objective I was aiming for as I painted this was to express the way that eccentric young girls who seek to distance themselves from the fleeting world possess a pain and beauty, different from that of other people, hidden within them.
