I am an artist, and I am a Shingon monk.
On top of that, I work according to a concept called "spiritual pop."
There is something in Buddhism called bonsho-funi (non-duality of seemingly contradictory things).
As I perceive it, this ordinary world where we live in a modern pop culture of cartoon characters and fads is not totally incompatible with the (spiritual) "pure land" where Buddha, bodhisattvas and others can achieve enlightenment
To bring together the now fading Buddhism and Oriental (spiritual) culture that has been handed down over the centuries and modern pop culture and to exhibit the result.
In so doing, I hope to reawaken and complete the pure land that is sleeping deep within the hearts of modern people who live in the narrow gorge of the reality and virtual reality that is Deathtopia.
