Lonesome, hidden in the basement, the artist stands, his cosmos laid out in front of us. There is no dramatic scenery, just an extended mute Moment.
Down in this cellar, just like in a camping truck or by playing computer games, we can introduce ourselves as the creators of this chosen reality. That´s how Martin Hast plays, he shows us a dreary constellation, which bears for him a happy end as well. His photographic work is a proposition to liberate our imaginary needs.
Hast narrates about parallel worlds, in which the rooms of our perception, one close to another, interfuse with each other, creating a “multiversum” which we recognize in this order: first, the depicted world, then the represented world, and the real world in which we stand. But, where are we actually? Before? Behind? Right in the middle?
Just like in Dreams, which man cannot avoid, lies the experience of Hast's narrative plays, the escape from the acquaintance, to find a clear explanation of our radiance under a little electric bulb.
