Radhika Jha (Indian Classic Dancer)
Born in Delhi(India), 1970. RADHIKA JHA performs a sensuous and lyrical style of Odissi, the temple dance of Orissa. Her style, rarely seen in public fora, is that of the late Guru Surendranath Jena. While all the different schools of Odissi draw inspiration from Orissa temple sculptures, Guru Jena's choreography departs from the better known schools of Odissi in turning well-known sculptural poses into movements instead of making them the end points of movements. A critically acclaimed dancer, Radhika performs regularly in India, Japan, USA and Europe. In 2006 she was made an empanelled artist by the ICCR (Indian Council of Cultural Relations).
