Critic, Editor-in-Chief of magazine PLANETS. His published books include Zero Nendai no Sozoryoku, Hayakawa Publishing Corporation, Subculture Saishushinpan, Hihyo no genocides, Cyzo (Collective writing, dialogue on the trend story with Shuichiro Sarashina) . His recent book is Bosei no Dystopia (tentative title), Shinchosha Publishing Co., Ltd.

Toru Kuwakubo was born in 1978, graduated from the Tama Art University Department of Painting, and currently works based in Kanagawa. After his work was selected for the 2002 Tokyo Wonder Wall, he also had exibition "TWS-Emerging 038 Umibeta no Gaka" at TWS Hongo. Since then, Kuwakubo has been busy with numerous exhibitions in Japan and overseas including, "GEISAI#5"(2004, Tokyo), "From Scratch BLOOMFIELD" (2005, Tokyo Wonder Site Shibuya), "Scenery of Tomorrow" (2007, bendixen contemporary art, Copenhagen), "Portrait Session" (2007, Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art), and "Artist File 2010" (2010, National Art Center, Tokyo).

Built around the first public showing of some new large-format works, this exhibition also provides a retrospective on Kuwakubo's work to date, including representative paintings and drawings.
