"WEDNESDAY LOUNGE" is a radical weekly event which include artists' talk, cutators' talk, and many kinds of program by the TWS residents who play an active part in various creative fields -fine art, theatrical art, music, design, and architecture -. In May, we have 3 artists by Asian Cultural Council Japan-United States Art program.Karen McCoy is a sculptor. Her work is about sensuality and spirituality who has been working on "site specific sculpture" for 20 years. Robert Carl is a composer and theorist celebrated in modern music. Shaun Irons & Lauren Petty is a video artist unit making poetic video works that refer to life, time and eternity.
"WEDNESDAY LOUNGE" provides our first encounter with them in Japan. In addition, we have another animation/ mixed media French artist Hugues Reip. He is established artist in Paris, whose up coming exhibition in Agnes b. is taken a lot of attention in Paris. His stay in Japan is supported by French Embassy. He will introduce us making process of his video work inspired by Ukiyoe and animation.
